"The Pleasure Principle" is the sixth single from Janet's third album "Control." The single was released on May 12, 1987 in the United States and on June 29, 1987 in the United Kingdom.
The song was written & produced by Monte Moir. It was recorded in October of 1985 at Flyte Tyme Studios in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The single photo cover was shot by photographer David LaChapelle.
Music Video[]
The video was directed by Dominic Sena and used the Shep Pettibone Mix version. In the video, Janet enters a loft to practice her dancing. She gives a solo dance performance while singing about the pleasure principle.
The elements of the choreography in the video incorporate a chair and a microphone stand.
