Escapade

"Escapade" is the third single from Janet's fourth album "Janet Jackson's Rhythm Nation 1814." The single was released on January 8, 1990 in the United States and on March 3, 1990 in the United Kingdom.

The song was written by Janet, Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis (who also produced the song). It was recorded around 1988-1989 at Flyte Tyme Studios in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Song BackgroundEdit

"Escapade" was inspired by the Martha & the Vandellas 1965 single "Nowhere to Run" which Janet originally planned to remake, but after a suggestion from producer Jimmy Jam, she recorded a new song instead with a similar feel.

Music VideoEdit

The video was directed by Peter Smillie and takes place at a Mardi Gras-like carnival.
